what do you do when you’ve gotten an idea for a concept, a world, characters, backstories, a setting, basically the whole nine yards, but no solid adventure or plot to give them?

I mean, to me “concept” would imply at least some idea of a plot. But if you’re talking about lacking the actual step by step Point A to Point Z of the plot, that’s actually part of the writing process–called plotting! 🙂 This is where you sit down, look at all the moving parts, and figure out each and every step along the way, from where the character is starting off and what happens to change things, to what the climax and ending are.
