So I decided to read and remark upon all the awards scripts that are going around in Caty’s excellent post. Which keeps getting longer!!
While We’re Young is a script that works perfectly well, but has small sympathetic traction because it’s about artistic New York City white people and what brand of lifestyle will end up working out best for them after they decide they don’t really like the kind they have settled into at 40.
It ends with the adoption of a baby, in the way I like least. “Here, this will fill that sucking void,” despite the film’s premise, which is about how you are the documentary you’re currently making.
Read for a great technique in slowly doling out information to reveal the character of Jamie.
Project recommendation: Recommend for some good secondary character parts.
