Never feel that you’re ‘married’ to an idea, even if it was the original idea that sparked the story. It might have to go, like a scaffolding that comes down after a mural is painted.

Reblogging with comments because it’s SO true for screenplays. When I read your script, I see all the component parts, as if they were a pile of Legos, and one of the things I read for is how they are assembled.
There are innumerable ways to put your pieces together. Some work, some not so much.
Take some out, change them around! They snap right back together.
