As long as its central question stays unresolved, it is tension. It’s the only thing that makes readers turn pages.

Amplify these moments in your script. Set them up and draw them out. You need to build one in each scene, a bigger one for each sequence and the ultimate one that stretches from page one to the catharsis point in act three.

Tension is horrible, sometimes it feels intolerable, but you have to look it in the eye and wrangle it with confidence. Don’t let it out prematurely.

You might be more comfortable writing this scene if someone comes along and unplugs the blender first, but comfort is not the object.
