Hey guys! I REALLY need your help! So, I posted a few months ago that a script of mine placed in the top 20 of Steeltown’s annual Film Factory screenwriting competition. While the top 3 scripts went on to compete for a $30,000 prize, the other 17 scripts were put into a “Community Showcase”. Well, now, Steeltown is generously offering a $5,000 production grant to the community showcase winner with the most online votes by May 24th.
Literally all I need you guys to do is click on this link and VOTE for my script “CHECK YES OR NO”. It’s a comedy about a jaded, precocious 12-year-old girl who’s trying to get her first kiss by the end of the day. I wrote it with the intention of producing a coming-of-age story from the POV of a young black girl, because there are so few out there, and it’s been pretty well-received so far.
Production is tentatively scheduled to begin in about a month, and I’ve been lucky to partner with an experienced crew of people that I know will produce an amazing short that will do well in the festival circuit. The $5k grant would be a huge help with production costs, and would greatly lessen the amount we’d need to raise via crowdfunding platforms like Indiegogo.
So you know what you’re voting for, I’m providing a link HERE to the latest version of the script. I hope you enjoy it!
So please VOTE for “Check Yes or No”, and please reblog! A ton of you have been so supportive already, and I’m extremely grateful. Thank you!!
Reblogging for grant money! Give a click, I read this script and it deserves to win.
