unearthitaly:

If you roam around the streets of Florence and Rome, you’ll find several examples of street art by an artist called Blub.

Blub reproduces really famous art subjects adding a diver’s mask. Why!?

There’s a very common idiom in Italian that says “ Essere con l’acqua
alla gola
” (“to be with water at throat’s level”), which is used by
people to say they are:

  • extremely late in finishing a work/study project;
  • in a period of crises which is so rampant that they’re almost in danger.

With his art, Blub wants
to say that even if people don’t care about culture, and art is “with the water at throat’s level”, it can definitely swim!
