I keep reading this, certain that if I read it just one more time I will understand what you are asking, and I keep failing.
A comment nailed it but wasn’t sure you would check those notes (I usually don’t). The ask only allowed a few characters so I tried to get abstractly poetic lol. I’m wondering who to attribute with the following quote as I’ve seen both you and Sir Pratchett (Kinda hoping a heavy “both” but seeking only truth)
“God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of His own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players [i.e. everybody], to being involved in an obscure and complex variant of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won’t tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.”
I wrote it, and then Terry added “and who smiles all the time” to the end.
