So I decided to read and remark upon all the awards scripts that are going around in Caty’s excellent post. Which keeps getting longer!!
99 Homes is an incredibly tight little low-budget script about the blackly-beating heart of corporate evil; it is explored in the post-bubble Orlando foreclosure business by the fall and rise and then fall and then rise of a victim.
Gave me goosebumps. It’s got the weight of Les Mis.
Perfect competition script. No fat. Read for a master class in rewriting for tightness. Not a single scene loses or obfuscates the plot, even though there are a million places to add more story.
The script is a marvel of discipline.
Project recommendation: Look on with awe.
