It’s such a picky thing, but readers read present progressive as wrong, because that’s how it’s taught. It’s bad screenplay grammar.
We hear a DOG barking and pan to the right to SEE a dog, 3, border collie. We can tell it’s thinking about food and is wondering where its owner is.
