Bidhya Devi Bhandari (b. 1961) is the current
president of Nepal. She is the first woman president of the Asian country, and
previously served as Minister of Defence and Minister for Environment.She ascended to power
in 2015. Before that, she was the chair of the All Nepal Women Association. She
was named as one of the most powerful women in the world by Forbes magazine in 2016.
